yes, a level pass and sound is required the closer to the mic the better, the plane doesn't even have to be in view... some people use tape recorders... really cool, ain't it...LOL

LOL, um.... I'll have to check that later... I didn't wattmeter it...

Dennis Checked his (on his f15) before with that same fan setup and I think it was like 750 and comes down cool, so I didn't bother checking... but he was using a bigger/better battery, so i'll try to wattmeter it tomorrow and see what it does... might be a little less...

Gotta take some video of a bluecor wing my buddy made for me, I tossed a turnigy heli motor on it and the same 4cell 1500mah pack, the thing has some zip to it too... I'm gonna guess 90-100 range... I'll try to get video this weekend...

Ok guys... A guy at the field had a Radar gun, so we decided to get Chong's GWS Zero dial'd in...

first run was 108mph with a 8x8 prop

Second run was 124mph with a cut down 8x9 prop... and just after we got the reading... it flew about another 100ft, and blew itself apart....LOL

here's the pics...

He must have had some serious power in that thing to get that airframe to go that fast!

Did it flutter or did he try to turn to hard at speed?
