Default pix view for field use?

Just wondering if anyone has seen a cheap device for viewing your aerial pics in the field? I'm thinking one of those digital picture frames or similar. No laptop here, and the 1.5" LCD is pretty useless to gauge picture quality w/o zooming in when I fly the Nikon, and the pencam I use doesn't even HAVE a screen. Everything I have seen locally is priced north of $100......would've saved me some trouble last night if I could have seen that the nose of my EZ was in the frame BEFORE I took 270 pictures...

(I know you said no laptop, but...)

you can get a decent laptop on ebay for about 200 bucks. I know those digital picture frames are kinda pricey also....

most digital picture frames require AC power as well.

I bough a cheap portable DVD player with a 7" screen. my cam uses SD cards and my little DVD player has a SD slot and reads the JPG's. it ran me about $150. but I use it for pics, and movies when traveling.. most have a rechargeable cell thats good for about 4hours of use. Look into it!!

Thanks guys. The portable DVD player sounds like a good idea, I might have to look into that. I never saw one with an SD card slot(then again, I never really looked either). The main reason I'm avoiding a laptop is that I'm about due for an upgrade to my PC and I need to buy something capable of running AutoCAD. = $$$ But, I'll shop around more.

FYI, I have found that more and more of the portable DVD players and small portable LCD TV sets have SD slots. and you will find that the cheaper 'no name' brands have more capabilities than the big 'name brand' devices. Strange but true!!
