Yes thanks. It's sweet you can get the light set up with it too.

That will help but there's more you can do if you're not using the stock transmitter and have something like a DX7:

(that's post #46 of this thread)

You can also add weight to the nosee but I don't like making the mCX heavier if at all possible.

Question Where's My Parts Horizon?

Blade mCX Parts Availability

It has been since mid-November and still no parts. I understand that this is a popular aircraft and Christmas happened but WHAT'S UP?

I'm going to the hobby store today, again, but they've been out of stock since mid-November.
  • The parts shortage:
    1. upper main blade
    2. flybar
    3. inner shaft / flybar holder

Caltrop,

I was able to order replacement upper/lower blades and a flybar from www.redrockethobbies.com. Try there and see if they still have some in stock.

Which Hobby Town? They are a franchise, individually owned.

I just went to HobbyTown yesterday and NO FLYBARS! They told me Horizon is out of them. I also checked Horizon online and they are out until they get more in and they don't know when that will be.

This is a nation wide shortage folks. Some lucky hobby stores still have some in stock but that will not last long. I suggest that if you can find flybars & upper blades that you get a spare set.

It still appears by their website that www.redrockethobbies.com has the flybar and upper/lower blades in stock.

The fly bar seems to be the thing that most people brake first. And they happen to have some there and I grabed acouple of them knowing that I might need them some day.

Default Flybar:

Up here in Canada we are taking out the screw above flybar and leaving it out so the flybar can come out on impact and it does not break anything.

Thumbs up Great idea !

That's a great idea! The flybar does clip in there good enough it doesn't really need the screw.

As soon as I get parts I'm taking the screw out!

the only time I have had to replace the flybar is because I lost it after breaking the inner shaft....
I have had to buy 3 inner shafts though!!! all of them my fault for trying to fly beyond the limits of the heli...

Well.... one was Liquidity's fault for knocking me out in combat....

Default Flybar breaks and Inner Shaft:

Leaving the screw out also prevents breaking the inner shaft.

Build Review Flybar Modification

I just went to the LHS and they said they were expecting a shipment of parts this week and I had them put my name on a list to hold out a flybar & shaft for me. Then I will modify it.

Maybe I'll be up in the air this weekend - finally after two months.

Talking Finally

Finally got a flybar and took the scew out. I managed to get the hub/shaft repaired with some plastic epoxy. Still no shafts yet.

That flybar mod really works. I was chasing the cat and... just snap it all back together and you're up again.

Now I need to get some of those better batteries. The 130mAh off brand.

We have the batteries, but if you give me a day I will have the fly bars too. They have been shipped to me and should be here tomorrow. I will be putting the mCX parts on the web site tomorrow night.

Shipping on the batteries is only $2 no matter how many you order!
Even though it says Priority, we're mailing these batteries First Class. Couldn't see charging 5+ dollars to ship a $10 battery.

Thanks,
Ed

Did you use Nicolas Cage from "Vampire's Kiss" on your main page's animated graphic?

I actually didn't design the site, but now that you point it out it certainly does look like that, doesn't it. Never noticed before.
