Default E-Flite EC-1500

I picked up this new plane from E-Flite. I got it because it looks like a modern twin turboprop cargo plane, but it is designed to also handle most aerobatics.

The plane looks somewhat like a C-27J, but E-Flite is quick to point out that it is not a scale model of any particular plane. Close inspection will confirm that it deviates from scale in many areas.

It is a twin with 650Kv motors which can fly powered by 3 or 4 cell batteries. On 4 cell it has plenty of power and vertical is nearly unlimited. It comes with counter rotating five blade scimitar style props. The control surfaces are large, much larger than if the plane were scale, so aerobatics are well within the this plane's flight envelope. The plane is equipped with an operating cargo ramp at the rear of the fuselage. It also includes a nice set of bright LEDs for those after sunset flights.

So far I am very pleased with the plane. I had a setback when I first got it, but it was my error and I have since remedied the issue and have about 20 flights with the model. Learn from my mistake, if you get one of these, make sure the props are on very tight.

The plane flies great. It is rock solid and very stable. It also has gobs of power, so if you get board with scale flying you should be able to do some serious barn storming.

My one and only complaint is that it doesn't have retracts, but it doesn't take away from the fact that this flies outstanding.

Sounds like a nice plane. I imagine you could add retracts if you wanted to.

If you like your twin a little more scale looking, some gray paint and decals from Callie Graphics and, voila!

This is an awesome plane. I've seen a lot of complaints about the lack of retracts, but I like the fact that the gear is solid and looks fine in the air and on the ground. It flies well off of the grass no matter if it's a little tall sometimes. I like the cargo door. Attached is a video I took from the nose and from the cargo bay during an air drop.
