Default Question

Have any of you heard of Value Hobby?

My Daughter just gave me a plane for my birthday from Value Hobby. I have never heard of them before. The plane is a Sabre 35.

Good plane bad plane?

I buy from them all the time. The Saber 35 is a 3D profile plane. If you have never flown before, it may be a bit too much for you to handle as a first plane. It will be very twitchy with the size of the control surfaces. Here is the link to the plane:

It is a balsa and ply plane covered in monokote type film. What kind of experience do you have at flying RC model aircraft? If you have none, then shelve this plane until you get an appropriage trainer type aircraft and get proficient at flying it.

I used to fly alot maybe 20 years ago and I am just getting back into it. I have a super cub that I will get back into it with. This just looks like a fun plane.
Any suggestions onwhich esc and motor combo would be best to go with?

Here is the recommended motor:

And a thread on RC Groups all about this plane:

Looks like a fun little plane but get that cub going first.

Looks pretty neat though. If you do decide to fly it, cut the servo throw rates right back so it is more docile till you get used to it.

Yes I think I would need to do that. When that time comes I may need some help figuring out how to do that with my DX6i radio

i've never used value's motors, but i've flown with their batteries (g-force) quite a bit. seem to be working very well for me.

for motors, i usually just go to headsuprc.com they have set us up with several and all have worked great!

Excellent service my order for a watt meter was processed and delivered within a week. Very fair on shipping. Considering buying a plane from them but haven't yet pulled the trigger.
