Very nice Kyle. Well laid out build assembly. I'm looking forward to flying with you as soon as it gets nice out.

Cool!! I hope you get a recorder so we can get some right-seat views! I was talking about FPV with a friend just day-before-yesterday. I just recently taught him to fly models (he's a long-time full-size pilot) and helped him put together his second airplane. His other hobby is photography and he's very excited at the possibility of doing AP and AV. I've done a little AP and AV and have thought a lot about the advantage of using FPV to better set up AP and AV shots. My friend has observed that the EasyStar is a popular AP/AV and FPV platform. His first plane is a Radian and it too has trouble getting down. It looks like you could use spoolerons, if you have enough radio channels, to help get it to come down.

Great build Kyle! I really like your set up, and your mods to the plane. You've come a long way in a very short time. I've been flying R/C for 25 years, and I'm still dreaming of FPV flight. I'm like you I've been searching the FPV threads for months, so that when I do it, I do it right the first time. It's a lot of cash to lay out at one time, so it may take another year before I get there.
Do you have the ability to pan and tilt the camera with your head movement? Do you have the heads up display, and if so, do you find it useful?
Again great job! I appriciate your time and hard work. These are very rare traits in young people today, you should be proud of these qualities.

Looks good. So you flew it at Tuma, was it getting dark? I would have bummed around town if I knew you were that dedicated

I'm eager to see what those goggles are like. Next Saturday I will be out of town but will be back on Sunday if you want to try it again. If you can record we can get both planes up so you can get some air to air video.

Kyle where the control horns mount did you just use the CA glue to glue them in place? If you did you might want to screw them in place with a backer on the other side of the control surface. I had my Stab. control horn pull out when I went to hand launch the plane, it nosed right in. Also had the rudder loosen up happened when I did a preflight check. Just a heads's up this was on my twinstarr I believe they are both elapor foam, and you just CA the control horns in place..
Hate to hear that you lost this nice setup because a control horn pulled from the surface. Nice job putting together the build thread to.
