Hi,

I have got back into my stryker but have been having a problem with the servos stripping, I have tried the stock servos (one flight before stripping) HS-65MG 3 flights before stripping the metal gears) and HS-81 (one flight before stripping the gears).

I am wondering if the HS-82MG would be much better or if I should change the setup of the servo arms etc.

I am running 70% end points and have the linkage on the longest hole on the arm. Would it help to decrease the chance of stripping to increase the end points and move in on the servo arm?

kiwidave::Are you sure it's not bind'in?? they can act smooth as silk on your pre-flight but when you load um up in flight (resistance) they stick, happened to me a few times, on the styker the links don't line-up make'in them prone to bind'in if there even a tad out-a-line,Lower'in the throws wil take some stain off but she can still bind, your bub, steve

The only think I can think is that you are overextending and binding them up. Reduce your throws and see if that helps.

We've been flying my sons for almost two years now on the original stock servos.

I am not sure it isn't binding. I will check throws and see if that helps.

I did fail to mention that I crash every flight. I have the Stryker package taped up and I now have most of the stuff survivable except the servos, that just might be the price I have to pay.

Ouch-that might be doing it. I still have my stock gears and I've had a few motor mount ripping crashes. Not sure why your's would be done in so easily.

FWIW you can swap out stock 81 gears for 81 metal gears. Still a bit pricey but less than new 81's. Not sure if 82MG gears will fit. Haven't seen one yet.
(Edit-By that I mean swapping out the actual gears). I know the servos are a drop-in fit.

Ditto what the others had said, and your added item about the crashing making them fail.

Thumping the Stryker can put a heck of a strain on the servos. The pretty much most bullet proof servos were the Hitec 81 MG's, now I believe they are replaced by the 82 MG's. Same servo different numbers.

Stripped Servos crashed my first flight.

My first flight with the striker was cut pretty short. It nosedived and spun in without explanation. After I glued it back together and tested everything, I noticed that one of the servos is clicking. I think it stripped during the first flight and made the controls haywire since only one elevon was working.

I really wanted to fly this plane with the Spektrum 6i, but they are on recall, so I just picked up one with the Parkzone radio. Big mistake.

I'm going to replace the micro servos tomorrow and try again.

Stripped servos are no fun. Wonder why it nose dived like that? How did you have it trimmed out?
