Default Fliers in Philly

I am currently living in Seattle, Wa but will be moving to Philadelphia this summer.

I was wondering if there are any fliers in the Philly area that could give a few tips as to flying locations and such in the greater Philadelphia area. Also, any clubs or other useful info would be cool.

Right now I am into <40" wing span park fliers and am interested in getting into sailplanes in the near future.

Thanks for any help!

Andrew,

I see one park pilot volunteer in your area:

Shoot John an email and I'm sure he will be glad to hook you up with some info.

And only two clubs:

Doesn't look like a very RC friendly area.

Default Philly Area

The Greater Philadelphia Area includes part of NJ and DE. Perhaps you could narrow "Philly Area" down to a more specific area. There are many clubs in the Philly area.
The Silent Knights in Delaware do gliders and electrics.
Delaware RC (Lums Pond) host the Warbirds Over Delaware
Valley Forge (National Park) has a very active club.
NJ has quite a few.

My Club (Cloud Kings) has two fields way west of Philly.

BTW we get just as much rain as Seattle. Fortunately we get it in bunches not the constant drizzel you get in Seattle.

Good Luck

Thanks for the info. I will look up those clubs once we get settled in Philadelphia.
