Default Hello and a few photos...

Hey gang,

Thought I'd just introduce myself with a few aerial photos from around my area... Been an RCGrouper for a long time (ex mod) and thought I'd expand my horizons a little...

Cheers!

Nice looking wing. Is it custom made or off of something else? I would like to hear some details and specs from your bird.

Hey there. Thanks for the welcome.

It's a custom job (actually, my first home made wing). EPS, hot wire, band saw, and some covering...

Thanks Mike!
Don, the first two photos (in the snow) are the Pencam 1.3. The rest are the Optio S4.

Steve: What are the Optio S4 camera setup...I.E. Did you set up a user's custom setup for the in flight photo's? If so..What do you use..
I have the similiar camera the S5i..ready to go ..Have an older Miss-2 with
a mount..and the ir remote unit..tested and works..just need to improve the camera settings..

Bobflyer..Nice photo's

Bob,

I get best results by setting EV -0.3, ISO 50. I usually use manual focus set to infinity, and of course zoomed all the way out and viewfinder off. I use the custom function setting to save all these settings.

Default Setting Camera...

Steve:

Thanks for the feedback..I was using the ISO greater than 50..I was thinking higher would give me a higher shutter speed..We have plenty
of Sunshine here so the 50 would be good..Florida..

Thanks again BobFlyer

Well, if you can get away with ISO higher than 50, you'll get quicker shutter speeds and probably fewer blurred shots, but the grain was unacceptable to me. Perhaps the S5i has improved that, but the S4 has horrible grain at ISO > 50.
