Ouch!

Frank is trying to find a plane that fits a good cross section of flyers but is still slow enough and has some pink on it for you Kev.

Hmmmm I think Tom and Frank just collectively called me fat.

(I wonder if Tom realizes I can enter him in the national computer as wanted....heh heh)

Frank, earlier you said you were gonna tell us what the plane would be. And no, there is NO pleasing me.

Tom, yer still my bud.....even if you are now mad at me.

Default Plane Choice

OK, the plane we chose is the Stevens Aero SQuiRT. Mainly because it is very easy to fly and can take a lot of abuse. We expect over 200 flights with this airplane and it will require to be able to take some abuse. Just what the plane was designed for. Motor is cheap and easy to replace if necessary.

Just because Bill at Stevens Aero has donated the plane and a DX6 Tx for our endeavor had nothing to do with our choice to use this plane.

Actually it was my first choice of planes due to those qualities I mentioned above and its size. Mountain Models also made a few planes that were on the short list.

I'll start a sponsor list in post #1 as we acquire the necessary equipment to make this happen.

Would it help to put a link to the map on the first post? Maybe I'm just missing it.

Good choice on the plane, Frank. I have a Lil Squirt. It is just still in pieces. Actually Smoke is flying one of his planes with a piece of the covering from the Lil Squirt.

I need to get it built cause we are about to start flying indoors, now that basketball is over.

Hey Tom,

I'll get with Frank and make sure that the plane comes to me before Kev. Then, I'll switch it out for my daughter's SQuiRT!

Default Donated Items

In discussions with what to do with all the donated items after the trip is complete, one suggestion was to raffle the equipment off to some of the participating pilots or have some other type "contest" to determine who gets the donated goodies. Something like who ever drove the farthest, had the quickest turnaround, best photos, etc.

Thoughts/Comments?

Maybe we could see who could do the best video/slide show with everyone's files put together?

If we do a raffle, Bill will win everything.

I'm sure Bill would agree that the four event coordinators are ineligible for donated goodies via a raffle. I know that warrants a and a to include myself, Steve and Bruce.

Only one pilot in Colorado according to the map? Gonna make for a whole lot of driving for the poor guy. If you need another volunteer I'll throw my hat in the ring too, what the heck.
