Default Anyone Know How to Fly a ParkFlyer? WAA-08 Needs You

I'm making one last effort to recruit more wattflyer pilots in flying an RC airplane around the USA.

In case you have heard or seen the discussions, there are 228 pilots signed up to fly an RC airplane all around the USA. The plane will be going to all 48 states in a counter-clockwise movement around the US. This is most likely a once in a lifetime event and we certainly could use some more wattflyer members to participate in it. We especially need pilots in Maine, North Dakota, Central California, Mississippi, and the panhandle of Florida. Out of the 228 registered pilots only 23 are from wattflyer. Being this is an electric parkflyer, I was expecting we would have had a lot more wattflyer members participating.

We have to close down the pilot list soon, but if you would like to volunteer to help in making history, now would be the time to say so. Especially if you are in those areas detailed above.

Pilot's map is here:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...045fb2c7ae1f68

Discussion thread is here.

http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32306

Please post with questions and or comments and thanks in advance.

Frank

I would sign up, but it looks like PerlAddict already has Murfreesboro covered.

What are the nearest pilots you have to Ft Hood, Tx/ Killeen, Tx. We're right here in Central Texas. Just wondering how long the drive would be for me to take it to the next pilot. I only ask because I would need to get a mileage pass from my Commander...which is no problem at all!! Just curious. Thanks Frank.

What would be stopping you both from flying it?

Steve,

This is getting better all the time! Red S is in Gainesville, but hoping to pick up a pilot or two in between.

**EDIT** For some reason, I was thinking this was project globetrotter, and the plane was being shipped via carrier. sorry.

I live in Elk Grove (Sacramento, CA) but drive down to Manteca every day for work. That is still a ways from Madera or Fresno, and I don't think I can find the time to make that drive with my family obligations. I would still be interested, if the logistics worked out, though.

Gary,

We'd appreciate you participating. Next guy is in San Francisco so I can understand the hesitation. We might be able to find someone in between you and him to lessen the drive.

You bet, you sure did! There is a page two for pilots that I didn't screen print. I need your email address please so I can send you last week's newsletter.
