There are plug ins. It would be good for people to bring any extension cords they can.
Also we have a need for chairs for the pancake breakfast and for spectators to sit on while watching the flying etc.

Strange -- it looks "deresed" again...

I've uploaded it to my web site -- you can download the HIGH RESOLUTION Adobe PDF file here --> http://karglusa.com/Documents/The%20...20fly%20in.pdf

This file is suitable for printing and inviting people to a high-quality event!

"low resolution".

"Deresed" = "De-resolution-ed".

I think Wattflyer is compressing files we upload for viewing -- that compression is deresing the image. Take a look at the difference between the general "looks" of the PDF file on my web site, versus the Wattflyer image in Wes' post -- you'll see the difference very quickly.

That well may be. After all the file I posted is the same as what I sent you.
So that makes sense.

Exclamation Time to stand up and be counted!

We are getting down to the wire now.
And due to my health and recent accident I have not been able to be as active for the fly in as I planned.

We need raffle prizes and also prizes for the events. So if you are near any hobby shops or know of online shops and business that could help hit them [email protected]
Print a few fliers and talk to them.

We also need cash for the T shirts to sell for the event. I have to turn in the art work and have them prepaid by the 15th of this month.

I feel like I am letting everyone down with not being able to do as much as I need to do.
But I am doing what I can. I need your help.
Remember this is not just to have a fun event ( but that is part of it) but also to introduce people to the hobby and give fellow fliers a chance to meet and make friends but most importantly to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis!

Default T shirt art

It has been mentioned to me that a Biplane may not be the most suitable aircraft for shirts.
The theme of the Fly In is the Dust Bowl. So I was staying with aircraft from the 1930s.
What does everyone else think?
Also if anyone has art work we can use I would love to see it. I have been working on some ideas. But they are biplanes.
So what would the majority want?

I like the image of the inverted Curtis Jenny on the stamp.
I'm not sure what year the Stamp came out, but the Jenny was without a doubt, the most popular airplane of the late 20's, and 30's, both military, and civilian.

Googel vintage airplane art, under images. Lots of neat stuff there.

Here is some cool clip art.

Just a few idea's. Can we do a white shirt this year? The grey, was just not my color.

White is a baaaaad color for me... I have enough trouble keeping gray clean enough to wear!
You are actually the first one to not be happy with the gray.
If I get them in more then one color it drives the price up too.
So would anyone else prefer white?

Have to be careful of copyrighted material too.
Not sure if those are or not.
Also simple art is also a plus for the T shirts.

Ok, how about dark mustard yellow, with white lettering. The color of the Carhartt logo. This will hide food stains, coffee stains, tobacco spit, and beer stains. Perfect for messy people like us.

LOL
Well at least grease stains could be explained as from the La Rhone Rotary Engine in a vintage aeroplane....

Default prizes

Here are the prizes so far received. I know there is more coming. But we can sure use more.
Many of these things there are more then one.

I like the biplane used last year and I would prefer something other than white as the T-shirt.

What about a T shirt with artwork based on this?

I liked the biplane too, but if nothing is going to change but the date, I've already got that shirt. I don't want to be a butt, and I know it's for a good cause, however my money would be better spent, and still go to charity, if I used the money to buy raffle tickets.
I like that last pic.

It won't be the same shirt with only a date change.
That is why I was showing the P6E as a possible image to base this years shirt on.
I am certainly open to suggestions for artwork that is not copyrighted.

I had also considered possibly using golden age racers like the GB etc.

I think I read that there will be combat again this year? Maybe I have missed the thread for the discussion... If there so, will a certain type be the preferred plane like last year?
Thanks,
/Bill

Default E-Combat

As far as I know combat will be "flung what ya brung" so anything electric will be ok. Most of our planes weigh in around 10 ounces or less and are highly maneuverable. Occasionally guys will show up with heavier and faster planes but they just kind of end up flying through the action and turning around to make another pass. If you want to be "in the mix" a light weight plane that can turn on a dime is the way to go. Here are a couple of links to give you a better idea of how we do it.

The Fast & Furious that a lot of us fly.
E-Combat in Tulsa

I've recently built an Assassin wing for full contact combat but so far I am the only one. For some reason or another nobody wants to fly combat against it . It's built like a tank, weighs in around 20 ounces, and probably tops out around 60MPH or so. So if you have a combat wing (or anything really) that you want to try some full contact combat with I'm ready for that too .

Personally, I would prefer a shirt color other than white (boring) or grey (my wet armpits show up really well when wearing a grey shirt -- and flying in 100+ degree weather gives me wet armpits). Black really soaks up the heat from the sun, so that's out... BRIGHT colors (orange, yellow, red, etcetera) are always good choices for shirts like this -- the color draws attention to the shirt (better advertising for next year), and the bright color reflects sunlight (so the shirt doesn't get HOT in the sun).

With respect to the logo -- I'd like to see a jet or WWII airplane on the shirt. Think about what most people flew at the event last year -- there were very few biplanes... Plus, spectators will be more inclined to visit the event if something exciting is on the t-shirt and flyers -- biplanes just don't get me all fired up... :o

As always, this is just my opinion. Please don't take any of the above negatively.

Wes -- thanks for letting us have the opportunity to chime in on this year's logo.

Photos from last year's event. What airplane type was most popular? Put THAT on the t-shirt and flyer!
