Default Fly-In - “Zephyr” - The 2006 Zephyr Electric Flight Festival-Florida -Oct 27,28 &29

“Zephyr” - The 2nd Annual 2006 Zephyr Electric Flight Festival is officially open for advance registration!!!! - Florida

Hi Guys,

The official web site is being updated for the 2nd Annual 2006 “Zephyr”. The Pilots Advance Registration Page is now open and working. Note that it only works with MS Internet Explorer. Here is a direct link to the web page:

Remember that by registering in advance, pilots save money and are automatically entered in the drawing for advance-registered pilots. Last year Glenn Lewis of Tampa, Florida won a brand new PHOENIX-45 sensorless brushless motor control donated by Castle Creations. This year’s prize has not been announced yet, but is going to be as good a value or better.

2006 dates:

October 27, 28 & 29 2006

This thread will be used for 2006 discussions and any official updates.

Latest updates

Hi all,

Just under 78 days to go until the fun and excitement starts. The registration pages are now all working. If you are planning on attending be sure to register in advance. There is no money collected up front, so if for some reason you can not make, you are not out anything except the fun. We are starting to get Sponsor commitments and the pilot roster is already getting filled in. A lot of new pilots have signed up. There have been some exciting updates posted on the web site recently.

From the www.zeff.info web site:

08-09-06 - A new event has been added to the "Zephyr" According to Event Coordinator Dick Scott. Warbird E Racing is scheduled to be run Sunday Morning from 10:00 to 12:00 AM . This should be an exciting addition to an already fun filled weekend. There will be awards to the three top places in each of the two classes to be run. Further information may be found by clicking on the Warbird Racing button at the header above. Doug Bebensee has been appointed the Warbird E Racing director.

07-08-06 - Santa sent a early gift to all Junior AMA members who plan to participate in the 2006 "Zephyr". Dick Scott, "Santa", announced today that all pilots who posses a valid 2006 AMA Junior Membership card will be admitted free for all three days. Junior AMA members are also encourage to advance register to be eligible for the special drawing.

Hi all,

The clock is ticking away with less than 27 days to go before the gates open to what "wireit" referred to in another forum as the "BIG Z". The "Zephyr' as we like to refer to it, is sizing up to be one of Florida's don't miss it events.

Here is an update posed today on the Zephyr" web site www.zeff.info :

10-01-06 - The Noon Demo Flights are shaping up to be very exciting. First on the list is Dick Scott who will fly his beautiful SEFF Best of Show winning DeHavilland DH 2. Dick has added to this Masterpiece since that win. Next on the agenda is Noell's Hobbies own Joe Peek and his Het Super Sniper V3. Joe's last trip out with this EDF jet was at the Neat Fair where it was clocked on radar at 160 MPH. Joe is tweaking this speedster up to try and surpass that speed at the "Zephyr". Gary Wright of GWMP has signed on to exhibit his line up of products with a demo flight you do not want to miss. Gary always puts on a crowd please demonstration with his flying abilities and his fine products. We are really pleased to be able to offer you such a great line up at this year's 2006 "Zephyr".

See ya at the "Zephyr",
Joe

Talking One Day To Go!!!!

WOW, ONLY ONE DAY TO GO !!!!!

Actually, some RV's are expected to arrive late this afternoon. So the fun and excitement is about to start.

We want to thank the 50 + pilots who have pre registered. One of you will take home the Power Analyzer Pro Basic Kit # MR-PA-60100R-B which includes the analyzer, usb cable and software that has been donated by Medusa Research, Inc.

The Demo flights should be very exciting this year. You will get a chance to see in action some of the most advanced EDF powered jets on the market today. In addition Gary Wright has signed on who's flying abilities are always a crowd pleaser. Dick Scott will fly his beautiful Award Winning DH-2 and there could also be some surprise performances.

This year we have another great raffle of donated items from our wonderful sponsors.

The food concession is always a favorite stop. The girls have some great home baked goodies waiting for you.

Our Vendor and Swap tables should have a good assortment of great buys.

On Sunday, the GWS Warbird Racing will take place and Sponsors RCPRO and GWS USA have the provided some real nice awards and prizes for the event.

The Can-AM Flyers and the Staff of the "Zephyr" want to wish you all a safe and fun filled weekend.

So, don't miss out and plan to make the "Zephyr Electric Fly-IN Festival" the place to be this weekend. It is an experience you don't want to miss. Just ask the 2005 participants and visitors.

See Ya at the "Zephyr" and let the FUN begin,
