Default Need help with brushless ESC

I have just bought a Neodym 480 1120kv brushless motor. It calls for a 30A to 45A ESC. I will be using a 3 cell 2200mAh li-po (11.1v) and a 11x5.5 prop. Will a 30A ESC do the job or do I need to go higher? I'm new to electric and I need as much help as I can get. I am using this setup on a power pod for a sailplane. Thanks!!!

The only way to be sure is get a watt meter and measure the current draw with your set up, but the Neodym motor looks similar to the heads Up Power 480:

At least on Jeff's setup, using an 11x 5.5 prop had a current draw of 30 amps. if your results are similar that would leave very little to no safety margin.
I would go 40-45 amp, the extra capacity will not do anything bad.

Never hurts to have a little too much capacity.

I personally like overkill myself. You should be spot on with the 45A and may have a bit let over. At least it won't hurt to use the 45A.
