E-Flite "Beast"
Anyone out there flying the "Beast" by E-Flite? Believe it or not i bought it as my very first rc plane... yeah, I skipped the beginner level completely and went straight into the Intermediate level flying. But now I’m addicted!!!
So of course, i did in fact crash the Beast a dozen times and i have tons of glue holding it together, but this little plane can really take a beating. It still flies perfect... and now that i can fly it in a basketball court blindfolded without crashing once... I’m ready for my next challenge! Any suggestions?

I am guessing your talking about the UMX Beast? Nice looking little plane!
What Tx do you have? Dx6i?
Looking for another UM or Larger plane?
What kind of flying do you plane to do? Fast, Slow, 3d/acrobatic, sport, scale?
Answering the above with help in recommending a plane.

Ah yes, sorry... i am talking about the UMX Beast. (Just realized there is a larger scale model out there). I do in fact have the Dx6i Tx.
I Love the Ultra Micro planes as they can be flown both in and out doors. That is important to me since I live in Hawaii and there is no such thing as a calm day. I will sometimes have a few hours either in the morning or the evening when the winds calm down but mostly it's between 5-20 mph year round.
That said, I have a friend that flies his 800mm F4U Corsair and I got to say that I’m jealous. I guess I’m looking for a plane that can fly in 15mph wind, something with speed "but" can also cruise nicely a lower speeds and something at the intermediate level that’s not going to be too much for me to handle.

I got a beast for xmas from my daughter but have not flown yet .I had a couple days in the 40 degree range here in il and thought of binding it and give it a try but iam building a big plane now and will wait till its a little warmer. It looks like a nice plane but i hope it can take a little wind. joe

Second, the optional 180mAH battery is a MUST. It not only gives you an addition 3 minutes flight time, but it is almost necessary in order to get the correct CG of this plane. This plane glides perfectly through the air at a mere 25% power.
So recap... low rates + 180mAH batt
Extremely fun plane... would love to hear about your maiden flight

WOW! I'm really surprised you were able to handle the beast as a first plane
! Anyways, I would go for a full size parkzone T-28. It can go fast, but it really shines at slow speed. It will handle 15mph wind no problem, Heck, I have flown mine in 25mph wind!

One thing to keep in mind is that no matter what you get that is bigger it is not going to absorb damage like the Micros can. These are tricky planes to fly for sure but are forgiving in that they do not have a lot of mass to cause much damage. You can cartwheel one and do little damage.
When you get into bigger, even park flyer size models, you will find that what did not break a Micro will break a bigger plane. More mass behind them means, well more mess in front of them!
I've got both the Micro Beast and a 50cc sized (6ft wingspan) Pitts model 12 which is the same Aircraft and I can tell you this for a fact; if I did someof the things to my big one that I have to the Micro it would have been history a long time ago!

If you wanna try a balsa plane you could try an Eflite Mini Ultra Stick, I've had mine for a couple years now and it sure can take a beating! The most I've ever done to it is break out the landing gear block when I was playing around on a windy day, got slammed into some "grab" grass, but a lil epoxy and 10 min later it was flyin' again!

New Plane!
I just picked up a new F4U Corsair by Nitroplanes.com
Looks like a solid plane and I’ve watched all the youtube videos on how it fly’s and handles. I still haven’t gotten out to the field for the maiden flight because it's been windy everyday for two weeks straight now (yuk).
One thing I’m a bit confused about is that for the stock setup, it calls for a 2S 1000mAh battery, yet some of the videos have put in a 3S 800mAh battery. I always thought you could change the mAh but not the Voltage... am i mistaken?
