Default Motors running backwards?

I know this is going to sounds stupid... But! I just finished setting up my motors on my OV-10. I am using E-Flight 400s and Phoenix ESCs. All the wires are correct, Black to Black, White to White, Red to Red. When I am facing the motors they turn clockwise. This is correct, right? The reason I ask is that when I put the props on, they are pushing air forwards...

Any ideas?

Just swap any two wires and they will switch direction. No problem.

Default New Info...

OK, I was looking at the setup again and realized that I have 6X1 gears on the motors. This would mean that the motors would turn the shaft in the opposite direction due to the gears right?

By any two wires, you mean the red and black? I am using brushless motors...

No, literally any two. But if you prefer black/red go for it.

Marc is correct on a 3 phase AC motor swaping any two motor leads will reverse the direction of rotation.

Marc is speaking the truth. On a brushless motor you simply swap any 2 of the 3 wires going to the motor from the esc and it will reverse rotation of your motor. The colors really don't matter.

Default yep, what he said.

Skunky is exactly right. Swapping the connection between any of the 3 motor-to-ESC wires will change the direction of spin for your motor.

The gear box shouldn't matter.

Another helpful bit of info that might help is that the vast majority of propellors have the size & pitch numbers stamped on the front of the blade. Meaning that the "11.4x7" faces the direction of travel.

Since you have a CC Phoenix controller, you also can reverse rotation of the motor in the controller setup real handy if you soldered the wires first, eh.

Facing the plane, the prop should spin counter-clockwise.

Smile Pictures...

Well here she is... The orange props will be coming off after the first few flights... I'm working on the rest of the covering this week. My next real challenge will be the landing gear and the battery placement. The plane is really tail heavy. So much so that I have to put the batteries right up against the forward compartment bulkhead which then interferes with the nose gear control...
