Question Anyone made a duplicate canopy of an original plastic canopy?

Started to build my Starmax 90mm F-16 (to replace my crashed one). I have a new original canopy and wondered if anyone has had experience making a mold from one (to make a duplicate)? I was thinking wax the inside and fill with plaster...
Anyone had experience vacu-forming plastic?
Thanks in advance
Eric

Hi there, check out a thread I started on this topic.

I do it all the time by filling the original with plaster and then heat shrinking a pop bottle over the plaster mould.
Works a treat.

I'm going to chime in with Jimmy here. Barry (Baz49exe) is a wizard at making nice home-made canopies.

Many thanks to all.
STARMAX responded to my email and they will sell me a canopy (among other parts)! I wish they would have answered earlier this summer when I needed a canopy then.
Cheers Eric

MANNN!

Right now it's blowing 20kt. gusts out of the NNW!! (Alberta Clipper) Going down in teens tonight, that is very VERY unusual for here on the coast!

Just built a canopy for another GUPPY MKll with an aileron wing this time!

Regards!
Jimmy

Yes, we aren't doing so "hot" either here in the Southland: 17 degrees tonight.
