Default Spektrum AR6115e Receiver Range Test

Just did a "Range" test with this "Back Yard" type of receiver in my old/new KA Rebel model today.

ESC is a CC 18 Amp with linear BEC, receiver battery is a two cell 900 Mah LiPo, transmitter is a Spektrum DX8 with DSMX.

First the transmitter was placed on a plastic tub about two feet off the ground. The model was then walked down to the other side of circle in front of my home, then walked clear out to the main street about 600 feet away. It's all open, line of sight. Absolutely never lost the signal. Even while rotating the model in all sorts of attitudes, including putting the receiver directly behind the motor.

This was repeated with the DX8 and its range test function, got over 200 paces with it.

Guess it will work in this little park flyer!

I also have had great performance out of these little receivers. Most of where I fly is out in the middle of nowhere over a hay field. I put these in my smaller models 38" or less. I have had them pretty far out w/ no signal drops.

I have tested them over a mile - so yes you should be just fine.

Range is not the reason for parkflyer use - rather shadowing.

Just flew that old KA Rebel airplane today. Range was never a problem. Landing was. The little 13 ounce model was landed in snow twice. The second landing, the model skidded about 4 feet after touchdown. And twice, the APC-E prop busted a blade when it hooked into the snow.

Oh well, I've got a little folder prop that will work, once the proper adapters are made with my lathe!

Could be worse, a club member piled in his Escapade today, straight in from 100 feet. Even the Spektrum receiver was in pieces. That plowed ground is frozen, he might as well have driven it into a concrete driveway.
