Got the polyurethane drying now (1st coat). Once it's all dry, I'll mount the wings and stab and snap some pics. She's looking really good!

Got the 3rd coat of Polyurethane done and dried. Just working on the canopy right now. Doing the trim on her with the metallic purple. The 1st coat is drying now...I'll shoot her real quick with a 2nd coat and then on goes the polyurethane. Shouldn't be too long now. Once it's all dried I'll glue the wings and stab on and snap some pics.

Thanks Mike...I think next time, I'll silk my next EDF! The paint looks so much better on them when they're silked!

I like the silk method myself. I usually spend more time on the silk and paintjob than I do building her. This project cost me three days of paint work alone.

It was just a joke.

The silk looks to work great. From my understanding, not a huge weight penalty, correct?

Lol I know that's true. I have spent every free minute of this last week silking and sanding my GWS Formosa 2 - recoating with WBPU, sanding...

Waiting to get my Airbush kit back so I can shoot a base coat...

Well, I finally maidened her yesterday. I love her!! She flies very very well! She seems to want to wobble from left to right a bit when gliding her in. I'll do my best to get a video of her in the air on the next flight.

That's great news, Mike!
I've alreadys drooled over this model. I like the larger wingspan I guess.

Two thumbs up on the wickedcool Purple Dragon theme, too!
Have you ever heard the purple dragon joke? I can't tell it here, it's not family friendly.

btw, I like the new avatar. That one bloody penguin was just a little too freaky!
Later friend.

Thanks John. Yeah, I know what you mean about the last avatar...that one was reserved for Halloween, lol. If you want, just shoot me an e-mail about the purple dragon joke...you got me itching to hear it now.

[email protected].

I'll try and get Rose out with me the next time I fly her. See if she'll take some video for me.

No worries brotherman. I hear the fish are active right before it rains!

I do love the Twister. What does the material feel like? Is it similar to the PArkzone birds? (F4 & T28)

Hopefully I'll get to see the Purple Dragon fly in March!

The foam feels good...after I sanded all the rough spots from the model's original mold. Large beaded foam. Still regret not silking it. Paint work looks so much better over a silked plane than just plain foam.

Don't worry man, hopefully you'll see it fly in the next few days...on video. Looking forward to March if you can make it down. No pressure though John.

Nice job man. I'm using the stock setup myself and she's plenty fast enough. I still regret not silking her. I usually silk my EDFs!! It's been a bit windy here, so I have no idea when I'll be able to fly her again.

Keep us posted on your build friend...looking forward to the flight report.
