Howdy y'all,

I'm new to this here forum, and from Dallas, Texas. I fly only electric aircraft, both planes and helis, so finding this forum was a wonderful discovery.

I just started getting into this hobby about 6 months ago so I guess I'm a rank beginner. I hope to be able to contribute something of interest as soon as I gain more experience.

Cheers,

Dave W.

Up here in northern Canada, I enjoy taking to the skies with an Hirobo Quark. I also have a Super Scale Cessna. The delight is a FlyCamOne2 that goes for a ride from time to time...

i have made the transition to WF, becuase i don't like the admin's on RCG and all the fights and drama.

everyone here seems relaxed and peaceful.

i also only fly electric.

thanks Wattflyer

the main reason i left RCG was because i had a disagreement with one of the Paying members aka. VIP/getaway-with-anything members. lol

But know that i found WF i have no need or want to go back to RCG.

Hey everybody, I've been out of the loop for so long I might as well be a new member

Need to get some solid plane-building time in before I return to school and my time magically disappears... funny how that happens, eh?

Good to see you all again

Hello Harrisboy and welcome to Wattflyer. Do you use your falcons to control pests?

I am going to move this thread to the Welcome to New Members thread.

Default Old but new

Hello folks,

Just arrived and like what I read about the forum here sofar.

I started with electrics about three years back for the heli's (one .60 gasser and four small electrics,) and just last year for the first time in fixed wing (A 38" Extra 330 L) .
Today I went out and bought a mini electric (Vapor).

Besides a few Wallyworld cheapo's, the 38" Extra is still the practise machine and held up real nice for the cheap foam thing it was when I got it.
Today I went out and picked up an indoor flyer from the hobbyshop.
The heli's are played out, I think FW is more fun.

I have been at it in fuel since '69, but slowed to a near halt for a good 25 years, and just a few years back got my interest up to go flying again.

I need to brush up on lingo and knowledge, and get a better education right here
I have lots more to learn about electronics but also had to make sure the "itch" wasn't a false alarm first.

I have many ideas I want to revive and put into wood or carbon, but this time with the quiet, cleaner and more versatile methods in electrics.

I'll be in and out asking questions and meeting y'all sooner or later, mean time I'm off browsing the posts to get some direction as to how and how not to get things done.

Take care, PH.

One more newbie checking in!

I've been building balsa & tissue models for quite a while, but was always afraid to free fly them and destroy all my hard work. With the variety of RTFs out there, I figured I'd give elec flight a try. Been lurking for a week or two, and really like what I see here.

I'm leaning toward a Supercub LP, and I just found out that a guy at work is an instructor for the local club. From what I've read, this sounds like the makings of a good start.
