Dynam Katana Ep Arf
#1

Hi everyone,
Just curious to know if anyone is currently flying one of these models or knows of anyone who has ?
Interested to know if its just a cheap TOY or the REAL thing
http://www.dynam-rc.com/products/airplane/kanata.htm
Would be great to hear back from anyone about it or, at least, hear your thoughts on what you think the model would be like.
Cheers

Well curiosity got the better of me and I purchased one of these ARF's/RTF's !
For anyone who might be interested, I will let you know how it looks when it arrives (I will post a few pics) and how it flys, when I get a chance to get it all together and head out to the field.
cheers

After a not-so-long wait, my RTF Katana EP has arrived!! All I can say is "WOW" !
This kit looks pretty good, considering it cost around $240 Australian Dollars.
All that is needed to complete the model is 8AA batteries for the transmitter (which looks like a very good copy of a JR S400).
Assembly instructions could give a little bit more info on setting up the model, but I think the kit is aimed at the modeller who has had past experience in building/setting up these types of models.
Rather than enter a lengthy discussion on the model, I think I will just post a few pics so you can all see for yourselves.
Hope it inspires you to track down one of these kits for yourself.
Hopefully I can catch some vid of this little buzz box in action and get it uploaded on this post.
Happy Flying.

I have recently started working with 3D, although I am mostly flying a DW foamie to learn 3D with, I am doing well with it and I wouldn't mind starting to fly the Dynam Katana that I have had in the closet waiting for me to advance to this level. I upgraded the servos and radio on it already as I didn't trust the quality of the stuff in the box, but I noticed something about this plane that worries me some.
The firewall has the motor mounted with a fair amount of thrust angle on it, is that actually desired, or was it poor construction from the factory?
Also, are there any odd balls with this thing that I should be aware of?

definitely not a beginers plane. so I hope your joking about being your first rc plane. if not, you'll most likely just have a pile of firewood about 30 seconds into your first flight.
I would recommend shifting over to the beginers forum

I got one of those on ebay have it mostly put together so about a 100 watt engine for this what is the kv on the motor. I paid 20.50 for mine just the plane. I'm not flying it yet need to practice some more with my other planes.
I agree this is not a beginers plane LT. Smash is right about that ryank, and welcome to wattflyer.

thanks guys for the advice i was infact completly expecting what you guys are saying. it was a moment of madness lol when i ordered. im not sure what ill do now to be honest i might relist it and get a beginner plane. it will take restraint and sense but your confirmations of the fate of the plane will help.
thanks guys
