Default 45 second flight with fully charged battery

I just got out the CP+ after a few months of storage. I completely drained the batteries before storing, then gave both a full charge before flying. I got less than a minute of flight from each battery. Right off the bat it would lift off and I could hover then it would slowly come back down and not have enough power to lift. It would only get light on the skids. The motor seemed much warmer than I remember. Before I put it away a few months ago everything worked like a champ.

Only thing I could notice was with everything off I couldn't turn the rotor, it seems that the main motor may be semi-locked up. I did have to dust it off a bit, could this be a dust problem and it just needs a good shot of cleaner? Or is the main motor shot? I am confident that the problem is with the motor and not the batteries, nothing else is binding, just seems the motor doesn't want to turn, which seems like it would burn through the battery very quick if it has to work that hard.

When you landed, was the motor HOT??? This would indicate a problem if it
was binding up.

When you say that you "completely drained" the batteries, were these LiPo's and
how low a voltage did you take them to? If you went too low, the problem could
ge the batteries were damaged by low voltage. LiPo's store pretty good with
around a 60% charge and don't need to be discharged for storage.

Motor was HOT!

Prior to storage I just held the heli in my hand and let it run until the blades were spinning slowly, aka, no lift. I will have to check the voltage in my batteries once fully charged to see if they are the culprit. I still think it's the main motor.

Tested batteries and they were A-ok. Motor was the problem after all, it was replaced and now works fine. Once I get the proportional mixing dialed in with the tail motor it should be back to normal.

Motor was Hot! Yeah, that's your trouble.

Motor should not be HOT.......warm, yes.

Glad you figured it out.
