Hey Everyone,

I have been off the forums now for about a month! Busy with School, Work, and whenever I can… Flying!

I was introduced to a new type of Aerobatic Flying, that I have never personally seen in real life, but I have flown on an R/C Simulator and have watched several videos online… I am talking about 4D/VPP Flying (Variable Pitch Prop??? I think…)

I am wanting to get a Foamy and put a VPP on it and see what I can do with it. Only problem is, I have no idea on the Power System. I don’t even know what type of plane I could do. I was looking at a DWFoamie, and was hoping I could put a VPP Motor on one of those…

Do you have any set ups for 4D/VPP Flying ? Please Share any information, or any VPP Planes that fly well that you know of!

I have played around with 2 different sets of equipment and have had little success. The VPP parts were plastic and tore apart when reversing the prop. Also, the model needs to be very light which is hard to do trying to build strong.
This guy is very successful and if you can afford his stuff, that is probably the way to go. I gave up with the junk they tried to pass off as VPP.

Do a search on Donatas Pauzuolis and he is the man.

Most of the VPP systems are designed for foamies in the 5oz range. However, I understand they are being developed for larger planes. I'm running the MAMO Upside down system with a Hacker A20-34S on 2S with 9" blades in a Donatas SUltimate. There's a lot of information in the RCGroups F3P forum.

I have a hard enough time flying with a reg prop let alone one that reverses.lol I have seen these fly at some e meets and even though its not my cup of tea ,i like watching them . I have seen them fly through a obstical cource and compete against each other and they dont hold back at all. joe
