Default Hobby Lobby Crash Sale

This is a continuation of this thread:

It seems as if it would fit better in this sub forum.

Jason,

Lets start out this way -

The Crash Sales.....how does your company determine what product will be used on the sale?

Subscribed -- I'm really interested in what Hobby Lobby has to say, with respect to AviatorDave's question (above).

Several times, I've purchased an item at full price, only to find it on "Crash Sale" a few weeks later. That makes me not want to purchase anything at full price from Hobby Lobby... I would think that others feel the same way I do, and that would lead to lower sales...

I feel like I wait months for something good, but it's all stuff that nobody wants -- so I cave and spend $300 on an airplane (F5), and BOOM -- it's on crash sale...

I like the crash sales. I bought a great little Atlas outrunner for my Flatana for 15 bucks. I wish I had bought two for that price. I keep watching every week in case they go on sale again.

I have never purchased anything from the crash sale. They just never seem to sell what I want when I want, or its just not low enough for me to jump on it.

Hey guys,
CRASH items can be lots of things. It can be something a manufacturer wants to sell out of, overstock items, discontinued items, etc. In this week's case we have brand new much better F/A-18's that just came in http://www.hobby-lobby.com/f_a-18_ti...18710_prd1.htm so we discontinued the old 18's and put them on CRASH sell.

Those new F/A-18s look GREAT! I've got one of the original red (salmon pink) models. It's a great first EDF. Seems to fly much better after I repainted it.

Yeah these new ones have better outrunner motors, 30 amp controllers, and are made of EPO foam similar to Elapor or EPP. The main landing gear have a plug in latch system and can be easily taken off for hand launch belly landing configuration. The nose gear has a set screw that has to be loosened and then it comes off as well. Great fun to fly.

Thanks,
Jason Cole

Hello All.
While discussing Hobby-Lobby performance, I believe it is convenient to share my case...
I was a H-L customer for 11 years. This year April 17th I purchased an F-5 Swiss Jet using a 80$ coupon. I payed finally about 215$ expecting my toy in about a week. Now guess what - my package was never shipped from Hobby-Lobby. I called company May 1st, May 8th, May 11, May 12th, talking to a half dozen of personnel including the sales manager. The box is sitting in HL warehouse for more that 3 weeks, and nobody will ship it because of the "accounting software error".
They are talking to me like I owe them something. What a dsimay!
Some mates from Monroe (WA) RC club told me yesterday that this is a good sign the company is going out of business keeping the purchased items unshipped.
Would you advise me to claim my money back until its too late?
Regards etc.
Doctor Otto

Thanks for answering Jason. I have registered in the R/C Star Club. I did this a couple weeks ago and again just now. I'm not getting any emails and yep, I've checked my "junk mail" and "spam" folders.

When I log in to Hobby Lobby, your site recognizes my log-in.

Default crash!!!

I have been a HL patron for years. Sign up for CS and been getting them since the first one. In the last year they have had three items that I was interested in.

22xx Axi motor mount, Hobby Lobby brand. The collar wont fit the 2208/34 shaft, this is the Hobby Lobby brand that was on sale for $1 package, not the Axi brand which works. Ordered ten. Haven't tried the Hobby Lobby brand 28xx Axi motor mount yet, paid $2 times ten. Maybe this is why they were so cheap?

Ordered ten HS 81 servos,$13.99 each if I remember right. When I got my Visa the wife found I was chrged full price!!!!! That was last week, did get a correction and a promised refund. Haven't called to see if I have been credited yet.
Not the Hobby Lobby that we have grown to love.
