Default Polk Hobbies Tracker III System

Hi Guys:

I am looking for feedback from anyone that has purchased the Tracker III radio system from Polk Hobbies. I've had a lot of problems with mine and wonder if I'm in the minority.

I just got one and had some problems getting started with the programing. With some help from folks on the Polks Hobby Forum, I got those sorted out.

(Holy dino-thread Batman)

I have 2 of them, and think they are great.

If you have any programming issues, let me know and I'll set you right.

I've had several issues, which will require warranty repairs, unless you know of a fix. I'm waiting for flying season to end before I send it back.

Using mixes, they require assigning each to a switch. The manual states leaving them assigned to "N" for no switch should make the mix active at all times. Mine does not, instead "N" means NO MIX on mine.

Channel 6 glitches fatally: it frequently changes the center position at will, and dramatically so. This forces me NOT to use channel 6. That means no flaperon wing mix, and no flaperons at all, unless I custom mix them using channel 7 (in which case I cannot use flaperon differential.

Strangely, channels 6 and 7 glitch whenever the plastic case is flexed, such as pulling on the neck strap. Clearly, the pots are affected by minor flexing of the case.

I had a problem with mine with the sticks not working properly. Sent it back and they repaired it under warranty. Turned out that the foam in my transmitter case was pushing on the sticks which caused the problem. Of course this happened during the trip to SEFF so I was transmitterless during the event that year.

Since then it's been working great, I still use a Tracker 2 on several planes because of laziness to programites.
