Looking to get back into Helis. What, no love for the Funcopter?
#1

Looking to get back into flying whirly birds. Since my eyesight is getting worse I'm looking at larger ships.
Specifically the Funcopter. If it's half as good as the original LMH it seems like a great candidate for me.
So I'm looking around and there is not a lot of chatter on the FC.
What gives??
Now, before you folks go off and say some silliness like "you should go buy..." Don't bother.
While I may not buy an FC. I'm just curious why there is not more info out there.
Thanks.

Maybe it's not so popular because it's not a 'rad' copter that can do tic-tocs and all that UFO-like flight. It does appear to have collective, which is good. Looks like the kind of heli I would like. Curse you, Twmaster, for showing me this! Something else I want for the hangar now!
And even better, in the vid you can see it's so easy to fly, even a girl can fly it!
(Needed 2 winks for that one so Chellie doesn't tear me up!)
Seriously, it does look like a great heli for those not interested in all the wild aerobatics.

Hey Twmaster, I found this thread on 'another' forum:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...ight=multiplex
Seems like its withering, but 273 pages of info! From the little I scanned, it seems like the FC may have had a few issues, but maybe that was version 1, not V2. And I guess it is fixed pitch, not collective.

I always thought the LMH series were cool. When I was trying to teach myself to fly helis with a Century Hummingbird (in a Bell 222 fuse), my buddy was successfully flying an LMH110 around, norvel engine, arlton gyro and all. I so wanted a Corona, but by the time I could scrape together the cash they were out of production......I still wouldn't mind having one of these Funcopters as a knockaround bird if only they were cheaper.

I recently bought the Fun Copter and a DX7 but am having trouble with knowing what to do with various settings for the servos. I am new to helicopters (have a CX2) and the dealer is having trouble setting it up for me. Any help would be appreciated.

Not having a Funcopter or a Dx7, I probably won't be able to help you directly, but re-read your post. Your post is kind of like going to an automotive forum and saying, 'My car's not working right. Can someone help?' Well, what's not working right? Can you give some more details about the problem? Explain that, and someone may be able to help you. Communication is the key to solving all the world's problems!
Good luck, and welcome to WF!

The dealer mentioned trying to set the servo settings in the DX7 - sensitivty rates etc. We have not been able to get the helicopter to hover without being erratic. The dealer has flown helicopters before but not the Fun Copter and was struggling with what to set the servo settings to. This may not be much help but compared to my CX2 this is far more complicated to setup.

Ah, so it sounds like you're just looking for control throws, expo, etc? Sounds like not many funcopter guys around here, so if the WF gods can forgive me, may I suggest here?
Unboxing the MPX Funcopter
Looks like a (no pun intended!) fun heli. On my bucket list... Good luck!
