Where do you work? I'm the great big building at the corner of Sweeney and Nealy that says "Fire Department" on the front of it.

Let's go fly!

Im right across the street installing the piping for the medical gasses.

Was that a new pilot doing the demo today? That guy was good! Much more exciting, looked like he was right on the brink of breaking the sound barrier at one point, could see the shockwaves forming over the tail. Whoa!

Soon as the weather clears Ill be out flying

Stop by the station and say hey then! Just ask for Bill, They'll send you my way.

That was the guy practicing for the Demo team. They'll be doing a lot of that getting ready for show season! He did turn the wick up a time or two huh?!

What a great place to work! We were out standing on the Flightline side of the station watching.

Yeah , I have the routine down in my head. This one was totally different. This is the first time I wittenesed it doing a Harrier,4 point uplines and such.
We got in trouble! Late from lunch and I was not able to see how long he kept the harrier going for. Looked like he could have went down the entire runway!

I love it there ! We have the renovation part also so I should be there for a while.

You fly anywhere at luchtime?

Hi Hisky, welcome to WattFlyer. Just a suggestion....put your home town in your profile so folks can see where you are from and get together with you to fly.

Mike,
hey Mike...

Bryant park is in the lakeside neighborhood in Richmond, and basically fills the northern border of where I-64 merges with I-95

like most city parks, it used to suffer a Hustling problem, but a diligent citizenry and the addition of a new Frisbee golf course has gone a long way to clean it up.

when I'm not tossing one of my sticks, I'm floating one of my live steam RC boats in one of the duck ponds of the same park.

if there are any other Richmond flyer's tossing around Byran park in attendance, lets get together and organize!
How much room is there to fly back there? I haven't been much past the entrance off Lakeside Ave.

It's not bad at all actually. the tree line is fairly put back, and the turf is usually kept very tight.
the main problems id that the fields are in use most every afternoon, and most weekend mornings.. so the goals are almost always up, and well netted. The pitches are also all elevated and graded, so there are boundary ditches between all of them. I'm under the assumption that this is to keep runaway balls from interfering with other games when the fields are being used for soccer. so, you pretty much gotta make sure you can keep your landings and take offs in these boundary's.

I certainly wouldn't try to fly any thing nitro or overly large there, considering its a fairly actively used park.
well... I know that a dude out there that practices with his nitro copters, a plane, not so much I think

I work weekends and I'm usually out there on Mondays and Tuesdays if the weathers nice and I can get away with chores.

I also run RC boats so the water features of the park are also helpfull. the only problem with that is a flock of nonmigratory geese has taken up residence.. in the shallows, the boat's tend to build up a slick of goose funk.

I'm from Ludington Michigan. (The Lud rhymes with Bud) The third most popular tourist trap in Michigan! I fly with a few friends, one of which has nearly 40 acres of open field in Manistee which is 30 miles north.

Default Auburn and Sacramento Ca.

If your in the Sacramento area, I found a terrific flying site just east of Douglas off of Sierra College. Half mile east of Dougles, turn left on Miners Ravine. At the top of the hill their is new home construction that has stopped for obvious reasons....
All new roads in, sloped curbs, all graded fields for a half mile in each direction, the nearest tree is a football field away....

Big Fun.

I never crash! I just occasionally make high speed landings perpendicular to the ground.
