I feel for you not getting to go fly. I have spent the last month building a new shop so I can move out of the dungeon and have more room to work in. DOC Holliday

Near Rockford IL. There is not even a slight breeze outside, along with absolutely no clouds. It's a beautiful day, June 1

Too windy today here in Ronceverte WV. I took my HZ Super Cub out to practice landings. On the third landing I decided to pack it up and not risk a bad crash.

A little too windy here in Harpers Ferry, WV too.
Hopefully the wind will die down this evening.

Severe thunderstorms this morning then it turned off sunny and 85 with 2000% humidity. This evening was beautiful with light and variable winds. My neighbor and I got out for several hours. I got to fly my Spitfire, Zero, Me-109 and maiden my F/A-18. Great evening.

We had great weather yesterday. This is the 1st Sunday in weeks that it hasn't been raining or high winds. It was great!!! This morning it is also calm, the weather man says 85 sunny and low winds again. Hummm, should I blow off work??? Naw, can't buy RC stuff if I don't go to work. I'll just leave a little early and get a flight in at the field near the office, that will work.

CTD

PS. Tom what F-18 did you get??

It's the Hobby Lobby F/A-18. It's one of the salmon pink mistakes that they had on clearance. Now that I know it flys, it's going in for a little more manly paint job rather than the Broke Back Squadron theme it came with.

Oh come on! You know how "out there" you would be flying in those colors! LOL! So what happened, did HL mix a bad batch of paint or is it part of an all-girl flying team?

(joking aside) I heard they were contributing to Breast Cancer Research for every plane purchased. I read that in another forum when they had these on sale.

Actually, what I was told by my LHS where I bought it was that the manufacturer messed up on the paint and they clearanced them. That's what the HL web site also said. It wasn't bad, $179 for an RTF with lipo and charger. Of course, I couldn't leave it stock so I had to change the receiver, ESC and lipos.

Thumbs up

After March, April & May being OVERLY WINDY (20 - 25 MPH) we finally got some "calm", decent flying weather here in LAKELAND, FLORIDA which is about half way between Tampa and Orlando on Interstate 4 (exit #38) !!

Weather's semi-miserable.
There's a light breeze, but the on-and-off drizzle isn't on friendly terms with my electronics.

You really should leave it stock colors, Tom.....It would SO match your flying hat and shirt.......

Besides, all kidding aside, with your airbrushing skills, you could probably do a really cool Breast Cancer awareness scheme......That would really be sweet.

I got out today. I had to get up early so I could beat the wind. One of my Super Cub's batteries is not getting fully charged I think. Did not have enough power on take off and the Cub ended up in the tall grass, nothing major. Got hit by a nasty crosswind on a landing and came down hard. Once again.. no major damage. I'm a lucky guy.

Weather looks pretty bad for the next few days, lots of thunderstorms.

Tom, I myself like it. I used to drive a Ford Fairlane that was salmon color. Only 4 vehicles in KC area that were that color. Before you say anything I am a verified REDNECK raised in southern MO. DOC Holliday

I have a soft spot for Salmon. I actually learned to drive in a 1964 Salmon colored Buick Wildcat. Big car. I think you could carry one of today's Cadillacs in the trunk as a spare. Took my driving test in it. It was so long, when I did my parallel parking test with it, the examiner told me anybody could park one of those things, they could park anything.

Don't think I ever saw another car that color.
