Talking Patience is a noble virtue!

Guess again Steve.
First, I don't need to truck em, I can just walk outside.
Second, see the snow accumulating on my Datsun.
Third, The weather outside is frightful & the fire is so delightful.

I think I will pass on flying outside today & fly my simulator.

Your bub, Bob

Hey Pappy. I see you are in Morristown. We'll be coming in to see the folks at Christmas in Corryton just outside of Knoxville. Not too far from you.

Maybe we can hook up and do a little flying while we are in.

Yesterday was perfect, 0 wind and the sun at my back. It was like flying in heaven!!! It has been cold and very windy here 50 miles west of Chicago for weeks!! So, yesterday was a treat. It was the 1st time I got to fly my A-4 Shyhawk EDF in calm conditions. It was sweet!! The A-4 was flying like a dream. Since I didn't have to battle the wind I was able to do some very low and slow passes and even some nice touch and go's!! Today was supposed to be pretty much the same, at least thats what the weather man said 2 days ago. Well that didn't happen! A snow storm showed up instead and we were battleing 15+ winds and temps aroung 35 degrees, burrrrr. We frose our butts off but at least I got to fly my A-4. They are saying we will get 4 to 6 inches of snow by tomorrow night. I filled the snowblower up with gas and checked the oil. One pull.....two pulls and she fired rite up. I'm ready Mother nature!! Give it all you got!!!! I'm from Chicago, you can't scare me!!!

Post #215 has 3 short flyby's of the A-4 for those who are intrested.

Three words describe our weather: Dark, Clear, and Cold.

It is 8:55 local time and it is still pitch black outside. Sunrise today 9:51 - Sunset 3:44. Makes for short days.

It is clear with a temp of 1* when I got up this morning.

I guess I will wait for the next warmer storm to try and fly again. It always warms up a little when it snows.

I'm with Pappy! A temperature of26*, a light dusting of snow last night, and a promised wind speed of 30-45 mph later today with gusts to 60 - courtesy of an approaching cold front! Approaching cold front? If this isn't cold, what's the "approaching cold front" bringing???

dmmalish, it's a relevant thread- never goes out of style because we all like to brag when we get good flying weather, especially in winter. Here in the deep South we are having some very mild weather. If I a) had time today and b) had a plane ready to fly, then it would have been a great day. Alas, it was not to be.
Slimers? Yuck.
