If you don't have one then get one! Best $20 I ever spent!

I've got 80 flights on my RC Powers F117 and was lucky enough with the first 6x4 prop to not need balancing. I just got done building their MIG-29 and every 6x4 prop I've had since has been insanely off balance.

I balanced my first 6x4 prop this morning and it runs like silk! No vibration or anything. I wish I would have bought it sooner.

I recently got one myself (£20 in UK). A great bit of kit. I find myself just staring at it whilst it keeps spinning and spinning.

I have been getting vibration probs on my EZ*. Put the 6X4 on the balancer and it was way out of balance. Looking forward to getting the EZ* AP ship back in the air to see how much of an improvement there is.

I've seen these in my LHS, the prop holder is suspended by magnetic levitation. Since there is no contact between the holder and the frame, it's supposed to be frictionless. Or so the manufacturer claims.

And it is damn near frictionless! I've always balanced my props by sticking them on the end of a drill but (smooth side) and spinning them. With my large 12x6 props spinning at much less RPM's than the 6x4's I've never had a real problem even though I'm sure now that they are out of balance.

This kit works extremely well and makes it very easy to get the balance perfectly precise. The planes fly so much better now!

You can actually make one for 1/4 the price...

1. Get one Finger Balancer
2. Get a couple of magnets
3. Make a "U" frame from three pieces of scrap wood slightly wider than the finger Balancer and the 2 magnets
4. Mount the magnets inside the "U" frame at the top
5. Put your prop on the Finger Balancer
6. Place the prop/balancer in the "U" frame between the magnets
7. Balance prop

Cost, about $5.00 for the Finger Balancer and a buck or two for the magnets.
