Parts cost a lot more than $28 though.

I bought this :
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...vo_Tester.html
Best $8 I spent ...
Now when I set-up a new servo installation, I use the tester ... I have a 4 cell Rx pack to plug into the tester as power ... No guessing - I press button for centred and bingo all servos centred ...
Imagine aileron servos in wing .... no need to hook up to fuselage and rx as I used to do ... I now have wing on it's own and plug into the tester.
I even had an old RTF Tx / Rx package I kept for servo set-up / testing ... even that's a pain compared to the tester.
Why DIY for what is possibly only a couple of $ saving ? Plus the above covers just about every servo there is as it's switchable.
