Default 1/6 XP-67

I've been working on this project for about a year now off ond on (mostly off). Traveling out to participate in Warbirds Over The Rockies in September has rejouvinated my interest. I am building from a set of enlarged Mario Emillio plans.

That's a cool looking plane. Definitely won't see another one at the flying field.

As a former McDonnellDouglas employee, I have to say I never thought I'd see the XP-67 in RC. Just too obsure! I love it!

Thanks guys. Progress is slow... Garage is COLD! I brought the nose section into the house and reassembled it with the retract ralis and longerons.

The XP-67 was a very promising plane. The fact that jets where on the way is what stopped it from being built. Always like the lines of this bird!

Sweet!!! An amazing build. It sure will stand out at any show from all the standard, Mustangs, Corsairs, etc.

Kudos on such a build!!!

When I die, I want to go like my Grandfather did, in his sleep...... Not screaming like the passengers in his plane.

So, did you ever finish your build?
I have one with a 90" wingspan that I have been fiddling with, but never really got it started, I framed it up, and gave up until I could build a true building table to house the beast.

Seems like they could have put a couple of the early jet engines in it fairly easy. That would have been an interesting plane.

Very nice build, it is nice to see people that will sit at a scroll saw for hours, to cut part like that. That is dedication. My hat is off to you.

I have built several planes from plans, so I understand the effort.

I think the prop engines they had to use were underpowered and not reliable enough. The ones they wanted weren't available. But that shouldn't be a problem with our modern electric brushless motors.
Definitely one of the neater looking airplanes of the time.

I'm resurrecting this thread...mostly cause I need to be able to message these 2 guys with moonbats. I need one, bad. Like I really need to build one of these. Anyone have any info on plans, please help me out. The website that was selling them has a closed notice on it so I don't know if they're available anymore.....I need this plane in my life.
