Default Zagi 400 Outrunner Motor Mounts

I am new to the forum. I fly Zagi's and would like to replace the stock motor with one of my outrunner motors. Have any of you guys figured out a way to mount an outrunner motor to a Zagi? Zagi wants something like $35.00 for their outrunner mount. There must be a cheaper and easier way. If not, is the Zagi factory outrunner mount the only one available?
Thanks,
Frank

Find a dead speed 400 motor and remove the guts. Replace the case end and remount the empty motor can in the stock Zagi mount. Now add the new brushless outrunner to the case end of the empty motor can.

Hobby City provides a stock, brushed stick mount system you can easily find anywhere for their outrunners. If you have a b/l motor that is firewall mount only, it's simple enough to sink a stick into your zag and glue a mounting plate onto the end of it regardless. Those are very fun planes, I only have one of them, the weight threw me off a bit initially and I had preconceived notions as to it's float-worthiness, along it's maiden I was alarmed how well it floated along, it took some panicked effort to take it down on it's maiden since it started to rain. lol

What a great idea. Thank you for the note. I have a couple of Speed 100's laying around that will make good candidates for the conversion.

Thanks Saycer Guy.
I'm headed to Hobby Town today and will check out their brushed stick mount systems. I can use it with another conversion I'm working on.

What I typically do is add a piece of basswood ply to be an anchor for the screws, this is sandwitched as the end piece, with the stick mount firewall being in between. It's a simple sure fire way of doing it.

Thanks again for the clarification. Have you seen any photos of this conversion on the Wattflyer forum?
