Just FYI -

The voting process is a bit different than the normal poll that we would be used to. With this format it eliminates the possibility of a person voting for their own picture.

It seems that some contestants are able to but others are not

116 views and only 8 votes?

Are some having problems with the voting set up?

Well this is a shock, I have NEVER won anything in my life!!!! This makes it a great xmas for me, I have a nice aicraft that the slowstick mount will hopefully fit on.
Well done to everyone who got off thier butts & submitted photos & if you don't mind a tip from a woman here's what I noticed.

Most of the photos could do with levels adjustments & here's 3 I liked myself, with a few subtle adjustments, including levels, saturation & maybe even a different crop.

Merry xmas & happy new year to you all

Congrats on the great photos by all, Kirsty's win is well deserved and she has become a fine contributor to the AP Forum here so all the better.

Dave did a fine job running the contest and finding a worthy prize (Not always easy as I remember). I'm really looking forward to the future contests next year and can't wait to see what unfolds.

Thanks guys & girls. I must admit I'm excited by it, as I said the first time I've ever won anything. Great prize as well.

It's a happy new year for me

Well done Kirsty .
You are right on the crop and adjustments , after some cropping mine came out a bit better too.
On the other hand I liked the My Town pic like it was, but that might be because I am from a dry area with less green and other bright colours in it.

Hi BEX,

I think the problem is your monitor needs calibrating slightly, I have to have mine done regulary as it's used for printing peoples photos onto canvas, I know with the the right profile what I see on the screen is exactly what prints out, so ICC colour profiles, paper profiles, printer profiles etc are all part of my job so to speak.

What photo editing programe do you use? that can make a big difference to how things turn out, also have you any shots with water in them? water normally adds extra like-ability to photos in my book...hard being in the desert

Happy new year to you & yours
