Default Your best flying foam board plane?

.

Hey everyone, I'm new to flying and of course new to building foam board planes. I've built a few that fly great and a few that didn't.

What I'm looking for is pics and ideas on some of your best flying foam board planes. Specs or a link to a built thread would be great. I prefer simple designs that can be built in an afternoon, but feel free to post anything you want.

Here is the latest one I've built that flies great! I'm not sure if it helps or not, but when taping this foam I kept it bent slightly to create a bit of dihedral. It sure seemed to fly smooth and stable. The tape made it very strong and rigid.

1/2" pink foam, 1300KV 24 gram motor, 8x3.8 slofly prop. AUW is 12.5 oz with a 1300mah 3s. Wingspan 30".

Here is the maiden, all was going great until the motor fell off. I've since repaired the mount and it flies awesome now.

I did this one up before building the larger, balsa built up version. It's fun just to buzz around the sky with.

One of the best flyers based on flat sheet ... originally 6mm depron, but any foam board will do it :

Polaris.

Just enter Polaris in search here or RCG and you'll have loads of hits. Flies of literally anything ... snow, grass, water - no wheels needed. Prop is out of harms way ... takes simple gear.

I've watched your flight videos of this plane and it's certainly on my "to build" list

Steve Schumate took one of the neatest models and made it so good for a sport everyday flyer.

They have a following that seems to grow every day. A commercial outfit copied it to produce the Skipper and Hobby King are selling that. It's also via Banggood under another name ... etc. etc. But the scratchbuild Polaris is slightly bigger, lighter wing load and flies in my mind better. I have both the Skipper and Polaris.

We have about 4 of them in the small club I am in now ... and I reckon there will be more soon.

Slow and high speed low passes ... big wide sky crunching loops ..... fast twinkle or slow lazy rolls ... its all there. You will not be disappointed with one.
