I put a Eflite Power 25 outrunner on mine with a 12x6 prop and it has power to spare!! You could probably get the same size outrunner alot cheaper at www.hobbyking.com. I have some of their gold Turnigy outrunners, and Turnigy ESCs and they have worked great!! I'm gonna find a Turnigy there for my new triplane since I'm on a budget. Steve

I will probably order a gold Turnigy equivilent from www.hobbycity.com because it is cheaper and I have some of the gold Turnigy motors and Turnigy ESCs and they work great!! If you'll click on the little camera under my avatar it will take you to my photos. The red triplane with the face on the front is the Polks tripe I'm already flying. Steve

Note:

I just got off the phone with Gill of Polk's Hobby. He wanted me to tell everyone that they are NOT going out of business, just clearing out stock to make room. He also said that they are breaking off from a particular supplier that they get the items that are on sale. They are going to be carrying their own items instead of someone elses.

Oh.... There is a problem with their server... that explains why some can get in and some can't.

Looks like a good deal. $40 shipped to my house but it is a larger scale than my other WW1 planes and I just bought 2 Eflite Nieuport 17s. Also I have a Comet DR1 I am making into an electric R/C so guess I will pass.

I am starting to understand why they are a failing business. Nice products that they don't let people buy. One of those companies that decided that good web support was a waste of money.

Actually, due to the word here and other places, their server that ordinarily handles everything was overwhelmed. They were having a fit when I was on the phone will Gill and trying to get the site fixed. The guy in the warehouse kept yelling.... all in all, quite entertaining to listen to.

I think that they have been swamped.

I placed 2 orders. The site is not showing my orders, but my bank account is showing the payment in process. I'll wait. I'm sure that everything will work out. The just got more business than they are used to in a very short span of time.

I haven't either. I live 1 state away from them so the shipping should not take too long. If I don't have them by Wednesday next week.... then I'll worry.

No response to my emails and my account doesn't exist anymore. "Swamped" servers isn't an excuse for lost data (I do this for a living). At least it didn't show up on my card.

Mine was gone for awhile then showed up again but no order history. I reordered so I'll get 2-4 or none as long as our card numbers haven't been launched into cyberspace

Angry Polks Web Site--USE CAUTION!!

I tried to order 2 items & my perfectly good Visa card was rejected.

THEN my confuser locked up BIG time! (xp pro) I finally was able to use system restore to get it operating properly. It acted like a virus got hold of it. My mouse left button was disabled, which made everything difficult if not impossible.

Oh well it saved me $75

Proceed with caution.

I've done business with these guys before and I can tell you that they normally aren't like this!! Something HAS to be wrong with their website because as a rule they offer great service. I've also known guys that needed some kind of assistance with their products and they bent over backwards to help. I think someone earlier was right, they just got swamped with orders or something and aren't used to the heavy traffic. Guess I shouldn't have told everyone about it!! LOL Steve

Swamped with orders, yes. Blame the computer system, no. People go two ways with systems and IT services, either way more than they need or way less than they need. None of which results in taking information then loosing it. If it were one of my companies and data was lost, a few IT people would be looking for work. DOS (swamped servers) is much different from data loss.
