Default Profile Mig 15

The odd Mig 15 model appears ... usually EDF ... but scratch ? I think the business of creating a duct tube as the fuselage and then adding wing / high mounted tail may be a reason not so many around.

I have various plans from 80's etc. - but decided to create in profile ... a lightweight job to at least have chance to perform. My Vulcan 'program' showed that doubled Depron is a good way to stiffen without need to mortgage for CF.

So ...

first sketch out a fuselage from 3 view ..

Cut two 6mm sides ..

measure up and cut wing and tail ..

Specs so far :

Length nose to exhaust : 510mm
Wing span : 630mm

I expect to fit a 2S motor up front with a 5x5 or 6x4 prop ...

Really nothing much to show as its a simple build ... even the swept wing - I managed to have a single CF spar ....

Ideas for servos ... a single servo set into the fuselage so that a double arm extends out to move the ailerons. Single servo set into the fin to move the linked elevators. No rudder.

Motor is the eMax CF2205 2850kv 2805 2840kv for 7 - 9V and 5 - 6" props. I intend 2S with 5x5 prop.

Ready to go with 1000mAh 2S LiPo = 265gr.

Little bit of touch up here and there with paint ...

Servos are HK939MG, same physical size as 9gr but metal gear puts them at 12gr. Aileron servo can be seen is buried into fuselage with V rods out to ailerons. Elevator servo half embedded into fin.

I decided to fit a 30A ESC instead of the tiny Racerstar 20A ... just in case I go for 3S ... battery sits on CoG point.

The 2805 on 5x5 draws 11A with the 2S and has by eCalc 1.5 to 1 Power to Weight

Cheers,

Once I have first flight out the way - I may move that motor back into the fuselage. When I cut the profile - I forgot about that extra !

I have added Soloshot TAG mount ... so now all up weight to launch is now 308gr ....
eCalc gives her a speed of ~80kph ... so hopefully SS3 should track her reasonably.

Yep ... very pleased ..

When she flew with the 1300 .. you could see the wing flex in the turns ... she has CF in the wing .... but I better be careful not to overtax her !!
