The best for the money is the T-rex 450 SE V2. But it is more money!

Yeah, I was looking at the trex. Sweet bird!

Does anyone have anything bad to say about the Blade 400

Have heard obout problem.s with some of the servo gears stripping out on the b400s (replacement gears are still on back order if that tells you anything)I stripped some out after a solid blade strike on the ground, tipped over when nthe skids snagged some grass with a cross wind. Modified a taller and wider gear to fight this, still waiting on the servo gears to find out how it works. (See "nice looking landing gear for a Blade 400") Gear sets are cheap and easy to replace though a hassle. Guess its better than a burn't out ESC. Some replace with different servos but search the forums to find out the pros and cons But personally I cherish mine. It comes with a great Spectrum radio, want to buy extra rtf airframes. I don't fly that much, mostly on a simulator, so I don't expect to wear out the plastic parts too soon, but we'll all find out soon.

The only bad things I've heard are:

1) Stock rudder servo doesn't accept the gyro's digital output. I upgraded mine to a DSP75 which is a drop in replacement for the DS75 servo that can handle the gyro's 275Hz output rate.

2) Stock servo gears strip in even the mildest blade strike. I had a blade strike on soft dirt and it bent the feathering shaft and stripped two servos. The blades weren't even affected, that's how mild the strike was. In both servos it was the same gear that stripped so I needed two gear replacement sets.

I have read elsewhere that Hitech H55 gear sets fit the DS75 servos perfectly. So you could try buying a gear set for one of those and see how it works. And the H55 gears are stronger also.

I still have yet to strip a gear, but I also can't get my tail to stop wagging no matter what.

Do you mean the tail wags even when not adjusting throttle? I'm sure you've played with gyro gain already. I can only go to about 72.5% gain without tail wag, but the tail still moves when changing throttle amounts (not in idle-up).

I've tried everything, dropped the gain to 55%, waggs, balanced the head, waggs, checked belt tention and silicon lubed, waggs. I've already tried dropping into rate 35% mode to get it to hold the tail there, but it won't even then. I'm going to give it one more shot once the weather calms down, but I'm starting to think that I got a bad gyro.

I might be going off half cocked here, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I think I finally fixed my tail wag problem. I spent half an hour last night with it in rate mode 40% trimming it until the tail held steady without any input from me. By the time I was done I didn't have enough juice left to try HH mode but I'm fairly sure I've got it now. No vibration from stopped up to full speed, takeoff, land, and shutdown. Smooth as silk the whole way.

The problem with the gears stripping is so annoying. It's always the same gear too. There has got to be a better alternative. I too had the smallest crash a few days ago, not even the blades broke, and had 2 bad servo gears.

What would it cost to buy direct fit replacements for all of the servos?
