I guess I'm going to get the ones from hobby king. Anyone ever buy from them? I notice they are shipped from China... Are there LEDs good? Do they take forever to ship?

Myself I used the the heavy duty wire for servos bought a bunch of it to make servo connectors I had left over and just stripped the 3 wires apart more than enough to do the job. Not many long runs for the lights longest one is 12 inches.

Never thought of the cat5 cable and stripping it out good idea Tex.

Why don't you buy them from Hobbypartz in the link I posted cheap shipping and you will get them faster plus it helps keep a little money in the USA there out of CA.

Their, there, they're...

+1 on the hobbypartz suggestion. Awesome price, at $5 a meter. I usually get my orders from them in under a week. Compared to at least two weeks from HobbyKing. And from what I can tell, they're the same lights.

i got mine from OK Hobby (led strips that is).

on the cat5 cable...it is single strand...be sure to secure it with ca since wiggling back and forth could make the strand fail. it also wasn't all that easy to strip when you need long pieces.
