Default Blade 350 QX Vs. QX2 Vs. QX3...

So my friends dad has a barely used Blade 350 QX, it may be a QX2, but going by the time frame I think he bought it, it is most likely an original QX. He is selling some of his toys and has offered me the 350, and an Ugly stick plane complete with servos/4 stroke glow engine (Just need to add my receiver), for $375 for the pair.

I have wanted a 350 QX since they first came out, but I see that they are already on the third generation of the 350. His is in amazing shape, never crashed, flown maybe 5 times, and comes with 2 batteries. It is a BNF, and I already own a DX8.

1.) Are the changes over the next 2 generations "Must haves"?

2.) Can the upgrades on the newer ones be done and done in a costly manner if they are that much better?

I may be able to get him to come down a little on price as well. All i have gotten is a pic of the plane so far...

The biggest differences btw. the 1st & 2nd/3rd generation 350's are the camera and gimbal packages offered. There have been some firmware enhancements as well (2nd/3rd gen).....the 1st edition came in two formats with and w/o camera packages. Now, they are all set-up for AV/AP and even FPV ability......and the GPS aspects, and TX tuning have been refined.

There are a few "aftermarket" frames, motors, LED's and props available now also.

I own the 1st gen........bought w/o camera/gimble, I use the DX6i with it and have since attached an AEE camera (both currently on loan with a quad newbie buddy). Have not had any issues so far and have not up-graded any firmware....she's a year old on Dec. 28th........for me, there have been no "must have's", but then again, my interests are purely hobby flying and vid's......

I did end up buying this, and am hooked! I upgraded to the 2.0 Firmware, and the added AP mode is perfect. I am already planning a build for a 650 Hex, with hopefully the capability to carry my Nikon DSLR Camera (D3200, fairly light). The capability of a simple BNF/RTF Quad these days is just insane. I took this today, and as you see in the end of the video, I had a bit of trouble landing on the hood of my car, I should have hit the motor kill switch on landing, did not realize zero throttle would give it just enough lift to still slide on the surface. No damage to the 350 though, so no biggie:
