Hey Wes,

I'm still planning on coming down there Saturday morning. I have a .60 size Top Flight P-39 that was given to me a while back. I don't think I will ever get to it so I'd like to donate it to your cause for auction or sale. How ever you want to use it to raise money for MS is up to you. It's a really nice plane that has some fantastic detail work done and comes with Robart retracts installed.

I would like to win that!!! I think $100-$150 worth of electronics, and a 4-5 cell lipo from HobbyKing, and someone is going to have a big scale electric warbird.
Thanks Tom!
I will also have one of our F&F combat planes to donate, and a few more to sell.

Since the original owner of this was building it for glow power. I think it's going to take a minimum of a monster 60 and 6S to fly it like it should. It's not going to be a floater by any means.

Maybe you can donate your F&F to me after you destroy mine.

There are several glow fliers in our group at the airport. And of course more will be at the fly in.
So I am sure there are many who will be. Interested in it!
What needs to be done to finish the build?

It depends on whether they set it up for glow or electric. As for the plane itself, the bottom of one wing needs sheeted and the detail work completed on the rest of the plane. It will need all the servos and power system. The retracts probably need to be inspected and the hoses checked or replaced. I don't know how old they are so the lines may need to be replaced. Other than that, it's probably 85% complete.

I would think keeping it glow would make the most sense.
The airframe itself was what I was asking about. And you covered that part well in your
Answer. Thanks.

I was going to convert it to electric but I had some concerns about weight. It was built for glow and the guy did a great job building it. The details he added are amazing. Typically, most builders building a plane for glow power don't get overly concerned on weight. It would probably still make a good electric powered plane but would make a great glow powered model. Did I just say that out loud?

Default Wifi at the Fly In

I talked to the daughter of the owner of the local wireless internet service provider. She is going to try and get us set up with a temporary Wifi Hot spot at the fly in.
She is a former airline pilot and instructor. And really liked the whole idea of the Fly in.
So keep your fingers crossed!
I am assuming of course that I am not the only one who would like to have wifi there.

If that works out would anyone have the needed items to stream video live from the fly in?

Hey Wes, how about a list, or a poll on who will be attending, where they are from, what planes they are bringing, and what items, they are bringing to sell? I think this might sway a few more people to come, who might be on the fence about it. Just a thought.

Sounds great to me. Last year though a lot of the people who came had not mentioned it online that they were coming.
But heck no reason NOT to start a list!

So people if you think you are coming post! Let us know what you are bringing! And don't forget there is going to be some GREAT raffle prizes!

I will start another thread with a poll now.

Check post #169 for links to sponsors and donors. Be sure to remember them when you are looking to buy!
And tell them you saw them in this thread!

Wish I could come out there, but this conflicts with another show in LA. Maybe next year I'll see if I can squeeze this one into my calendar.

But I have made a donation on behalf of Nico Hobbies, so I'm a least trying to do my part. I have a friend with MS, so it's nice to see that the foundation will benefit!

Have fun and fly a plane for me!

Pat,
I am ( and I know others too) am looking forward to getting your donation and drooling over it!
And I KNOW who ever wins it will be smiling from ear to ear!
Thanks again!
People like you and the others helping with this fight against MS are what makes a cure possible. And it really gives us with MS hope for the future too. And hope means a lot!

We do have a schedule of events. But the times are going to depend on the weather.
Great weather and big turn out will spread them out in time.
The raffle will be going on through out the fly in starting Saturday.

There will be Combat of course. An all up last down event. Taxi contest ( think slalom) and spot landing.
Also peoples choice award in static judging.( does not need to be scale)

Sounds good. Thanks. I'm going to try to hit the road really early Saturday morning so I can be there around 8:30 or 9:00. Gonna be a long day. I think I'll need to make room for a 5 gallon jug of coffee with an IV drip.

The guys from Tulsa are pretty good about that. I've grown numb to it.

Default Wifi

Wifi is a go!
They are going to hook it up on the 9th and it will be there from the 9th till the 12th.
Plainsnet in Holdenville is providing it free to the fly in.

Wes,

I forgot to mention. I have a very dear friend who has MS. She does a lot with fund raisers and awareness. I'm happy to donate to the cause! I assume that this will be an annual thing, so keep me in mind each year for donations!

And I might just come out one year so that I can slap Tom around a little. Different hands help since he's grown numb to the unclub guys.
