First things first. Call the police (not 9-1-1, call the non-emergency number) and have an officer come take a theft report. Make sure you have all the info (make, model, serial number, identifying characteristics) to help id it should they find it.

Sorry bub...lot's of dishonest people out there. Think you're gonna have to spring for a new bike.....and a bike lock this time. If you can't lock it down at least render it useless. Lock it through the wheel to the frame ...or even remove the front tire.

Had a radar detector stolen out of my car right out in front of my home. Just wouldn't expect it around here. Expect the unexpected and lock your stuff up!

Look like you just took a hit to your RC budget. Sorry to hear it.

Well I guess that could work but I cannot really do that because we don't know the serial num. And Well... To late now

any others that I could do like Scanning The Era (iv already done that though no luck). But the bright side is that it was stolen a some other dudes house not my house. so hes bound to come ridding down right in front of my house and we will pounce. the bike type
A SCHWIN BIKE THAT IS WORTH $250.

We were in the backyard not 5 feet away from TWO bikes one worth 1000 bucks and mine he didn't touch the other one.: confused:

Lots of good used bikes. Friends, garage sales even in the trash. Good luck and happy hunting.

Thanks guys, we'll get it worked out.

We scored it from CraigsList for cheap, thats how we'll replace it.

No negligence on our part, its amazing that it was taken right under our noses. The layout of the neighborhood has our street a pretty well used path in and out.

Karma is a bugger. It will come back on the perp soon enough. We will move on.

I'd still file a report with the police. It seems silly without the serial, but it's not. I had a few bikes solen a couple of years ago. I didn't know the serial, but the discription was good enough to at least give them a reference. In the end, the Police found 2 of the 5 and was able to make an arrest. A discription of your 1 bike could lead the police to more.

Often, the local police will suspect someone as soon as you tell them what is missing. In my case, I had 1 bike back in an hour. They had an idea of who to look at, and he was caught red handed trying to dispose of 1.

I had a old 6 hp johnson stolen of my boat in my yard. Kicker was that my wife and kids where home at the time during the day never heard a thing and the boat is right beside the house. I live in a rural area to boot none of the neighbors were home. No one saw or heard a thing. At least my house insurance covered the theft was able to get a bigger and better motor not new but a good used one. Nitro I don't know what you have for a detuctible but ya might be able to slide it into your home policey. Just a thought.

I agree, a police report would STILL be the smart thing to do. But then, I may be slightly biased.

Don't feel too bad NBJr. Last summer my wife and my bikes were stolen from our locked community bike room, which is in the basement of our locked building. Kicker: There's only six families that live there. Someone in our building had to let in the person(s) who stole them and they only stole our two bikes. Mine was worth over $1,000 and my wife's was worth over $2,500. Called the cops and insurance company. Insurance wouldn't pay as there were no signs of a break-in. The cops finally found the stripped frames in the woods near a city over 20 miles away.

We bought new bikes, but I couldn't get my wife the expensive one this time. They still cost over $1,200 each.
