I'd like to know how they re-designed the nose section to take all that power from the one engine. THey must have had fun engineering that!!

I know were not flying through USAF airspace without permission! Or are you in Dayton's Class C.

I once almost landed at Fairchild thinking it was Spokane Int back in my early flying days.

Cheech,

I don't think it would have been the "Follow Me" truck that greeted you at the taxiway had you done that!

Cheech, This was before the invention of class "C" airspace.
At that time, Dayton had terminal radar services. I told them I wanted to take a picture of the museum.
They dropped me to 1,500 feet and gave me vectors to the museum.

They moved all the traffic and gave me priority and I got to take my picture.
I wish I had a better camera.
Controllers were pretty nice back then.

Hi Pat, I've made two emergency landings at a military base.
They do greet you with M-16's.

As a U.S. Marine air winger in Kadena, I made the mistake of crossing over the solid line. Those Air Farce M.P.'s or what ever they are called must have been anticipating it because in no time they had a U.S. Marine pinned down, face down with rifles drawn. All I had was a tool pouch.

No secret squirrel stuff going on with my Harriers fellas. Tone it down a notch. USAF takes its flight line security seriously, no doubt.

Yeah, in a former life I flew on EC-130s at Sembach. Since our stuff was highly classified, I had to pass through 3 security checkpoints just to get to our building on the flightline (one consisted of a vehicle search with dogs and mirrors). And another 2 to get inside the building itself.

Don't even try to joke with the controllers.

After an hour of touch and goes in a 150 I made the mistake of replying to the "gear down and locked" inquiry with "gear down an welded".

He went on forever about that.
Sure are a serious bunch.

Every now and then I'll go to the weblink for KLAX and listen to the controllers. Can be highly entertaining!

Here's a few
KLAX tower
http://www.liveatc.net/search/
type KLAX into the search box and hit enter. It's currently down (the feed, not the tower)(It isn't my fault!)

My "office" - way out in the distance - I'm pretty much the NW corner of LAX - this camera points at the south runways

That camera used to point right across the airport at my office - but the view of T6 and T7 is much nicer.

That would be an Anderson Greenwood AND 51-A. I wish I could say I recognized it from memory because I have seen photos of it before.

I think it was because he could. I read a story about that Cub a while back.

The guy that did it really liked twins.
Getting into a Cub is hard enough,,but getting into the fuselage on the left must have been quite a trick.
Look at his next project.

ok here goes...a few days ago i have seen a big (military looking) plane fly over my house, it made a lot of noise so it was hard to miss, but still i couldnt get a picture. it looked old, and it had 6 engines (3 on each wing) really close together to the fuselage. anyone has any ideas what it could have been?

Jet, turboprop, recip? High or low wing? T-tail? In any case, I can't think of anything currently flying with 6 engines. That big Russian 6 engine cargo plane I think is retired. Perhaps you mistook drop tanks for engines? I get buzzed pretty regularly by a C-130 with drop tanks(Actually, I don't know if a C-130 can drop them, but that's what they look like!), and man it can be loud sometimes! Used to set off my car alarm in the driveway, until Obama bought it so I could get a new one. Thx prez! Some neighbours hate it, but it's just an impromptu airshow for me!
