But will it take off from a conveyor belt?

Explain what you used. What gauge wire? Where did you find the magnet? Is the wire just kinked in the middle?

I think I used about 5/16 diameter magnets, they were kinda small so I stacked three of them. Use any gauge wire you have handy (I tried phone line and although it spun fast, it was rather fragile. 16 is kinda heavy but still works.). Also it helps if you put a small dimple in the positive terminal of the battery.
