We have a few "Economical" (quality) setups but we DON'T do "cheap"
Spend your money wisely the first time and get something that will last a good long time!

Pete,
What up man? Hope all is well...
(uh, I see you are on-line randy....only us 'on vacation dunkerds' are supposed to be on the boards at 2am!)
I tested this motor pretty extensively (2 of em).....that number is a calc number and not an actual...before mine came apart, bext I could get was just under 50MPH on a proven speed-airfoil...so its best on 2 cells. I have however, had good luck with a few Emax motors.....but it's still to new with those to tell....
The little Screamers motors have been track tested, beaten, ran up with insane configs, and they still put out the best bang with no failure in their price range. Brushless motors that have similar end - performance can cost 150.00....so if you buy a Little Screamer at 50.00 now...and you'll prolly still have it in three years.
Whatever you choose...it's all good so long as you have FUN!!! Keep us posted on what you decide to slap on your bird...I always get excited waiting to see what's next.
All the best,

Hi
I Agree with Skiman762 the 2409-12 is a nice little outrunner motor that is inexpensive about $18.00 at Heads up RC, I am Amazed at what this little motor can do for the price, on small foamies the BP21 and the 2409-12 is all that I use, and Yes, I am Cheap too
but dont tell anyone.

my cats doin good cheilie thanks. I probably got the esc, motor and 3 servos for 50$! nothing like paying such a little amount for such a good plane. also its pretty durable (most planes made out of foam board are) which is good because when it stalls it can be tricky to recover from.
and Chuck, ive been pretty good lately. also if you remeber i had an esc that would not work with a small inrunner i have, now works on the little scratch built cat mentioned above with a 3500 kv outrunner which is really a good thing because now i dont have to go through the hassle of sending it back to china and dealing with united hobbies infamous customer service. :o

I use 5 min epoxy to build it, and use hot glue to hold the servos in, if you can fly a pusher cat you can fly this

Course I remember ya, Pete...thats what I was referring to. I got a mind like a steel trap. Its the rest of me thats falling apart!
Here is my gratuitous contribution to the club:

DIALED/CHUCK's
"EL YARKE"
(pronounced el-yark-ay)

DIALED/CHUCK's
"EL YARKE"
(pronounced el-yark-ay)
It built in about 45 minutes and flies just fancy on a 2s BP21 ourtunner setup trimmed down prop to a 7X5....anything over 1/2 throttle and she gets VERY PITCHY....but barely get the motor going and she likes and handles like a dream and glides forever.
The CG is anywhere on the velcro strap. Rolls like a shark twisting apart a carcass at the borrom of the ocean.....hence the name.
Only reinforcementis three strips of fiberglass strapping tape on the bottom.
Its a 24 inch wingspan plate of depron and I stole servo-fin design ideas from my Superfly.
