Default Motor, ESC, Battery questions for a Taylor Craft

I just acquired a E Flight Taylor Craft that does not have a power system. I would like a 480 motor for the plane and would like to begin aerobatic stuff in the future. I also don't want to spend money for for something that is not necessary either.

Now I see there so many different motor manufactures out there and is there one better than the other quality wise?

How about speed controllers? some I see are programmable, with out over complicating things are they worth the extra money?

I also see there are 2 cell and 3 cells batteries that I can use for this plane that have different capacities is one better than the other? any brand better?

Heads Up Rc has some good prices, Is there stuff any good?

I apologize for so many questions but I have always been involved in nitro cars and boats, electric planes are new to me. so please educate me!

I currently have a Mini super cub that I fly as much as possible and with the thought about moving to the T28 before flying the Taylor Craft.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks everyone

Richard

Welcome to the insanity.

Heads up is a great place to do business. Good prices, great customer service, good shipping rates, and a wealth of information. Comes highly recommended by many of us

As to all your other questions as to what's best........Hang on. Lots of opinions out here.
