Default Remember a great pilot, and great man. MikeJ

I was asked by Mike's wife Lassie, to post this on their familes behalf.

MikeJ was one of the lurkers on WattFlyer, but no less of a devoted RC Pilot. Mike passed away several weeks ago from Mesothelioma. He left his lovely wife Lassie, son Doug, Daughter Bridget and her husband Chuck as well as their son Blake.

The name Blake might ring a bell, as Mike built a beautiful plane, and named it Blake. He also built the most amazingly detailed Tiger Moth I have ever seen. Both planes suffered crashes, and we unfotunately not rebuilt before he lost his battle with this awful desease. Both plane builds were posted here on Wattflyer.

There will be a memorial service held for Mike in the Seattle this Sunday March 18th, and anyone is invited that would care to attend.

If you are interested just let me know and I would be happy to give you the information. It will be an informal fun event, celebrating a terrific man with a lifelong career and love of flying real planes, and a passion for the RC versions in retirement.

Cheers Mike. You will be missed.
