Default $50.00 Contest Entry Albatross

Here is my Albatross build.
It will be made out of DollarTree Foam Board and should not cost over 3 bucks.
I have all the other parts and glue in stock.
It will be a 32inch wingspan and the Motor is a Emax CF2822 the servo's are TowerPro 90
I use a 3s 1000mah Batt. for most of my planes and that's what i will be using on this one.
I got the plans all printed and cut and pasted together and i have started cutting foam.
I have no way to do a Video so i will not qualify for the prize.

Very Nice Start Maybe a family Member, Friend or Neighbour might have a video camera that can take a video of your Creation, If you have a Cell Phone, that would work too, Hope you can get a video done some how, I really want to see it Flying,Take care, Chellie

Thanks for the concern shellie but my cell phone does not have a camera and we live
alone in the forest no friends that have a video cam. I fly in my yard inside the treeline
and some times above the trees and have fed the Jackpines a lot of Foam.Ha

Well thanks Bill, the paint is Apple Barrel Acrylic which is sold at Walmart.
I use packing tape on the foam to bend it and then i remove the tape and that leaves a
nice paintable surface.

Moving right along!
Got the wing almost done except for the paint job, here is a couple of pic's showing the
construction. I used Bamboo Skewers for the brace to get the dihedral and epoxy for the glue. I used thin slice's of yard stick for the center to hold the angle.

Just came back in from doing the maiden and it went perfect, it's a nice flyer.
I didn't put ailerons on it, i just made it RET and it does just fine without the ailerons.
She floats nice and lands very graceful.
Im happy with it and as soon as it is light enough out i will take some more pictures.

Can you get some still pictures of it flying, I think we can substitute those in Lu of a Video since you have no Access to a video Camera.

I will see if my wife can get some shots of me flying it.
I usually fly early in the morning when the wind is down and the light may not
be too good for pic's, we will see what we can do.

Ok the rain quit and the wind was not too bad so i had my wife take some
shots of me flying the Albatros. The camera is old like me and is not easy to
snap an airplane flying, the shutter speed is very slow.
Anyway here are a few shots.
